Reducing Your Dog's Carbon Pawprint

You've made the switch to tap water, plugged all your electronics into power strips with off switches, and you toss your spare change into a jar labeled "Prius Fund." But what are you doing to reduce the environmental impact your dog makes on the world?

In celebration of Earth Day, we recommend trying one of the dozens of projects and recipes (for everything from fun fabric toys to herbal flea repellent) in Eco Dog, a wonderful new release from Chronicle Books.
And for more ideas on greening your hound, take a peek at a recent NewsHound newsletter from our archives: An Inconvenient Pooch.

We'd love to hear your own ideas and solutions, too, so feel free to comment below.

Happy Earth Day,
Laura

Welcome!

Welcome to the inaugural post of the brand-spanking-new urbanhound blog! This is a space to explore all things dog-centric, but particularly those issues relevant to city-dwelling dog folks. Though presented by the New York, Chicago and San Francisco editors of urbanhound, this blog is meant to gather thoughts, suggestions and questions from dog owners around the globe. So, please feel free to comment or contact us to suggest topics or express interest in being a guest blogger. We ask only that you keep the flame turned down and refrain from commercial advertising.

Thanks!
